Everton confident of beating Man City and Chelsea to £28m signing
Everton are confident of beating Manchester City and Chelsea to the signing of a highly-rated central defender thought to cost in the region of £28million.
The Toffees are looking to sign Burnley’s Michael Keane in a deal that would emphasise the ambition that the club has.
Everton would need to battle with the big boys if they want the defender, with Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte both wanting to sign the player with a return to Old Trafford also mooted according to reports.

As a legendary centre-back himself, Ronald Koeman may also be a deciding factor in Keane’s potential move. Studying under such as prestigious defender would provide an appealing aspect for a switch to Merseyside.
Burnley would be reluctant to sell the player and resisted all approaches for the player in the January transfer window, especially from Everton.
Now, the player may look to leave with such big moves on the table, and Everton may just be the team that gets him.
