Eden Hazard issues title challenge after huge Chelsea win
Chelsea star Eden Hazard was very positive when speaking to the press after their win over West Brom, a ground the club have loved over the last couple of seasons, winning the league there last term.
Now, after a huge win that put them back on the map, Hazard made it clear that he thinks the Blues are title contenders, and that Manchester City may be playing well at the minute, but they won’t have things all their own way given there are still a huge amount of games left to play, and the Blues are hitting form.
Guardiola’s men are of course the favourites for the title, but Chelsea were behind the leaders last season and managed to come back to beat a deficit, and they think that could well be the case this time around.
Hazard was positive after the game, which is of course the start of a huge week for Chelsea, with their Champions League campaign also in desperate need of a win to get them back on track after seeing the Roma games produce only one point.
The winger spoke about Manchester City, who are of course flying and after Chelsea went to second in the table – before Manchester United played of course – he noted that the main aim right now is to close the gap, and everything else will come after.
“Manchester City are winning a lot of games but we want to close the gap,” he told the BBC.
“You never know in the Premier League. Last year we won 12 or 13 games in a row so why not again?
“We have to be ready for that.”
