Napoli and Belgium star Dries Mertens made a rude joke about Romelu Lukaku’s goal celebration during a 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia this week.
The Manchester United striker scored twice to take his recent tally on the international stage to 10 goals in just six games ahead of the World Cup this summer, where they will of course face England in the group stage.
During one of the celebrations, Lukaku sunk to his knees next to Mertens and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, prompting a rather naughty response from the former on Twitter…
There are other ways to thank us for the assists Rom... pic.twitter.com/UyKWATFgcJ— Dries Mertens (@dries_mertens14) March 28, 2018
Overall, the comment went down well with over 72,000 retweets and 33,000 likes on.
Michy Batshuayi, who has been in great form for Borussia Dortmund since joining on loan from Chelsea in January, and Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne also scored to round off a comprehensive victory for Roberto Martinez’s side.
