Crystal Palace looking to sign experienced Premier League defender
Crystal Palace are hoping to end Mamadou Sakho’s Liverpool nightmare by completing a deal for the Frenchman, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Sakho, 26, has not played for the Reds since April last year after falling out with boss Jurgen Klopp and serving a ban for a failed drugs test, but that case was eventually dropped.
This season, while Liverpool continue to mount a Premier League title challenge under Klopp, Sakho has been forced to train with the youth team.
A valuation of £20million has put a number of suitors off, but Palace appear to be willing to negotiate, with the player spotted in London earlier today.
Eagles boss Sam Allardyce is keen to strengthen his squad as he bids to stave off the threat of relegation in the second half of the season, with the Selhurst Park club currently residing in the bottom three.
