Chinese Super League set to make record bid for Chelsea starPublished January 01, 2017
Chelsea fans have just seen Oscar leave the club after a huge bid came in from China, and now the Super League are after another one of their players.
That’s according to the Sun, who seem to think Diego Costa is now a £80 million target for Tianjin Quanjian, and that kind of money is hard to ignore.
Chelsea are obviously seriously wealthy, and can afford to turn down mega money bids for players – but quite if they can manage to keep a player who would also be offered a huge salary remains to be seen.
Costa is a huge player for the Blues, and his goals this season have been a major reason for their title charge – and losing that would be a huge blow.
Obviously the club could replace Costa – but in the short term, it could be a huge issue.
Conte is building a side who he wants to challenge in the Premier League and in Europe – and sees Costa as a massive part of that.
While Costa is happy at the moment, he’s been unhappy at the club before, and should that happen again, a move to China could be on the cards.
