Chelsea target not going anywhere, says boss
Southampton manager Claude Puel insists in-demand defender Virgil van Dijk will stay at the club beyond the summer, per Sky.
Van Dijk has impressed during his time at St Mary’s, so much so that a host of top clubs, reportedly including Liverpool and Chelsea are keen to sign him.
It is thought the Dutchman would cost around £50million, having arrived in the Premier League from Celtic two years ago.
Despite being out with a serious ankle injury since January, Puel says Van Dijk is a key member of his squad and has a role to play in the long run.

“It was a bad injury,” he said. “But now it’s okay. The surgery is finished, he can work normally, he can start the gym work and rehab to come back for next season… and with us.
“He is our captain. He is important for us. He is a fantastic player.
“We will wait until the beginning of the season to see him again on the pitch.
“He has a long contract and I think the directors want to keep him”.
