Chelsea striker set for Premier League switchPublished January 16, 2017
Middlesbrough are on the verge of signing Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford after the clubs agreed a fee.
In the past four years Bamford has been loaned to six English clubs, including MK Dons, Derby, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, Norwich and Burnley but has failed to impress at Chelsea leading to his eventual exit.
According to reports, the fee will rise to an astonishing £10m and Boro will offer Bamford a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Bamford, now 23, no longer has youth on his side and must now prove his doubters wrong, having never scored a Premier League goal despite his high price tag.
You might think Bamford's overpriced at £10m, but that's actually infinity pounds for each Premier League goal he's scored— Tom Victor (@tomvictor) January 16, 2017
Bamford had played a total of 34 minutes this season at Burnley, while the season prior five of his seven Norwich league appearances came from the bench. His loan at Crystal Palace was also cut short after failing to impress.
