Chelsea star Willian has admitted that he would have left the club if Antonio Conte remained in charge after last season.
The Brazilian didn’t seem to get on with his former manager and that reached boiling point at the end of the season.
He infamously placed several trophy emoji’s over Antonio Conte following the FA Cup final win.
Following the season, Conte was no closer to being sacked and Willian started looking to leave the club with Barcelona interested in signing the player.
Several bids for Willian were rejected, the last one going up to around £55million and the Catalan giants eventually moved for Bordeaux winger Malcom.
Now, Willian has admitted that he is happy to stay at the club but would have pushed harder for a move if Antonio Conte was still at the club.
Asked if he would still be at the club if Conte was still in charge, he responded: “No chance. No. I’m here because I want to play for Chelsea. I will only leave if Chelsea want me to go.”
“The manager tells us to play, to enjoy ourselves on the pitch, with responsibility. Now we have a different style, that’s why we can create problems for Arsenal.
“Is it fun to play this way? I think so. We have a lot of players with quality up front, like Eden Hazard and Pedro. Players like that want to play football.
