Chelsea set for sensational talks with striker after transfer fail
Diego Costa and Chelsea are set for sensational talks after both the club and the player realised they needed to come to an agreement for at least the next few months.
After a move to Atletico Madrid fell through, Costa is now stuck for at least the next few months until the January window opens, and maybe even longer should Atleti decide against making a bid for him.
Given it’s a World Cup year and Costa has already been dropped from the Spain squad, it seems that the player is willing to at least see what the club have to say – especially in the face of possible legal action from Chelsea.
It seems that Costa feels there is no other choice but to make good with the club, and while the board seem to be favouring that option, there is no telling what manager Antonio Conte will do, especially given Costa has been left out of their Champions League squad.
The Express claim a friend of Costa’s said to them:“There will have to be a reconciliation between Diego and Chelsea.
“Diego will have to come back to England, because he does not want his career to end with him back in Brazil like this.
“Diego has no grounds to sue Chelsea. But Chelsea do have grounds to sue Diego.”
