Chelsea prepare £34m January bid for Bayer Leverkusen hitman ChicharitoPublished December 29, 2016
Javier Hernandez could make a return to England – but not in the shirt of former club Manchester United. Bild reports that Chelsea are the club who are considering bidding for Chicharito. Bayer Leverkusen have named their price for the Mexican hitman and £34 million for a striker of proven quality is good business.
Hernandez did the business for United when he played for the Red Devils. He also made the most of his limited opportunities during a loan spell at Real Madrid before a permanent move to Germany. He hasn’t been as prolific this season due to Leverkusen’s struggles.
But seven goals in all competitions is a decent haul. Putting it into context, Barcelona superstar Neymar only has six. Last season, Hernandez scored 26 goals. Jose Mourinho recently admitted he wouldn’t have sold him had Chicharito still been at Old Trafford when he took over. Now, Antonio Conte could bring the forward back to haunt United.
