Chelsea prepare £200m spending spree as Conte targets Arsenal star, massive Liverpool target bid and defensive rock in summer raids
Chelsea are plotting several big signings before the summer transfer window closes.
The defending Premier League champions suffered a surprising home opener defeat against Burnley last week, forcing Antonio Conte to look for further reinforcements.
The Blues have their sights on Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and could lure the 24-year-old midfielder to Stamford Bridge. Conte needs to increase English international players in his first team squad, making Oxlade-Chamberlain an important target as he enters his final year of his contract with the Gunners.
The current champions are also seeking to enhance their defence and targeting Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, Cedric Soares, and Ryan Bertrand. The Saints have said the trio is not for sale, and could cost as much as £150 million altogether. Liverpool are also in the hunt for van Dijk while Tottenham are reported to be after Soares, forcing the Blues to enter a bidding war for the Dutch centre back.

Chelsea are also keen on signing Danny Drinkwater, and preparing a second bid after Leicester rejected their previous £20 million offer. The London club are planning to up their offer to £25m for the 27-year-old midfielder.
Roman Abramovich has high expectations at the club, and could allow for his Italian manager to splash £200m for these five players.
