Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal handed boost in battle for Premier League ace
Ross Barkley made it clear come the end of the season he wanted to leave Everton, and now it seems the player may have quite a few clubs after him.
Initially, it looked like he would be off to Tottenham Hotspur, but issues over wages and the north London club refusing to pay the rumoured £150,000 per week for Barkley have stalled said move.
Now, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all considering making a move for Barkley – and monitoring the situation closely.
In terms of wages and transfer fees, the three giants of the Premier League would have no trouble matching anything Everton and Barkley were asking for, casting doubt on a move to Spurs.
Of course, Man United have been busy in the transfer market, and have officially landed Nemanja Matic from Chelsea – with the midfielder claiming he expects a title challenge now.
Not only that, but the way another former Chelsea player has settled into life at United – Romelu Lukaku has made for a very good pre-season indeed in the eyes of Mourinho.
