Chelsea line-up £50m bid for proven Premier League strikerPublished July 21, 2016
Chelsea are readying a big money move for former Blues forward Romelu Lukaku according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Blues sold the Belgian to Everton two years ago in a deal worth £28m but the West London side are now ready to fork out £50m to welcome the 23-year-old back to Stamford Bridge, a move that may well tempt the powerful front-man.
Since leaving Chelsea the burly striker ahs proven a solid goal-scorer, banking 15 goals in his loan spell at Everton and tallys of 10 and 18 in top tier action since that temporary move was made permanent.
Chelsea have already brought in Michy Batshuayi in a £33m deal from Marseille and Conte may look to pair the two Belgians together, either way the addition of another forward would surely add fuel to the speculation that Brazilian born Spanish international Diego Costa is on his way out, with his former club Atletico Madrid known to retain an interest.
Conte has been handed a big transfer war-chest as Chelsea look to get back on track after last term’s disastrous tenth place finish and the Italian clearly feels an injection of a prolific proven Premier League forward would help in the club’s push for major honours.
