Chelsea line-up shock move to re-sign David Luiz in £32m deal: Antonio Conte looks to strenghten Blues defence
Chelsea have set their sights on re-signing Brazilian defender David Luiz in a sensational £32m deal according to Goal.com.
29-year-old Luiz left West London for PSG in June 2014 and has matured into a far more reliable defensive performer over the past two years and would surely be welcomed back with open arm by Chelsea’s supporters.
Luiz was very much a fan favourite during his three and a half year spell at Stamford Bridge and helped the club to Champions League and Europa League triumphs over the course of his time at the Premier League club.
PSG have started the season in average fashion, losing to AS Monaco last weekend, and the departure of coach Laurent Blanc and star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will surely have dealt a blow to the mega-rich French side.
Chelsea have been linked with moves for a number of centre-backs with the likes of Leonardo Bonucci having been apparently pursued by Antonio Conte and Luiz may be an ideal option to consider.
Luiz made 143 appearances for Chelsea in his first spell at the club, netting 12 goals in the process.
