Chelsea could face points deduction following Manchester City bust-upPublished December 11, 2016
Chelsea could be hit with a points deduction following the fracas that occurred during their win at Man City earlier this month according to the Daily Mirror.
The West London side were rightly outraged by the behaviour of certain Man City players towards the end of the big top of the table clash, which saw Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho both sent off, but the 22 player brawl that occurred was not the first the Blues have been involved with in recent months.
Indeed this was the fifth time in 19 months that the Stamford Bridge side have breached FA Rule E20 covering the behaviour of players.
This sounds a bit of an unfounded story to be honest as it would be quite astounding if Chelsea would be sanctioned with a points penalty, something that hasn’t occurred since Arsenal and Man United were hit with a similar punishment 26 years ago.
Chelsea sit joint top of the table at present ahead of their Sunday fixture against West Brom.
