Chelsea eye shock swoop for unsettled Bundesliga star
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is plotting a shock move for Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng as he looks to bolster his defence, per the Daily Mirror.
The Blues are looking to replace captain John Terry, who left after 22 years at Stamford Bridge at the end of last season.
The 36-year-old played a bit-part role foe Conte, but the Italian is keen to add depth to his back line this summer.
Boateng, 28, has become one of the world’s best defenders since joining Bayern from Manchester City in 2011 and Chelsea have enquired about his availability.
A deal could suit all parties, though, with injuries curtailing his progress under Carlo Ancelotti. The Bavarians could let him leave for a bid in excess of £30million.
Boateng himself could well be keen to test himself in the Premier League once again.
