Chelsea blasted for letting amazing player leave yet again
Chelsea are well known for selling young players they don’t think will be able to break into their first team as quickly as they might like – and it’s coming back to bite them in spectacular fashion this season.
Not only did Manchester City end up with Kevin De Bruyne, who looks like being the player of the season – with no question asked at this point – but it seems that Liverpool have also profited when it comes to Mo Salah.
The winger has fitted into the Liverpool front three seamlessly, and it seems that he could well be their top scorer this season – and at the price he cost Jurgen Klopp’s men, that’s a huge bargain.
Former Chelsea player Ray Wilkins was not impressed with the decision to sell Salah, and claimed that compared to other players Chelsea have purchased since, he is a bargain – and the Blues may well be regretting their decision now.
He said: “It’s a tad of a bargain isn’t it.
“When you think Batshuayi cost us £33million, he doesn’t produce stuff like that.
“Salah, he left Chelsea, he went to Roma, and he played.
“You never know what these guys can do unless they’re given a run of games.
“He’s scored goals in Rome and he’s doing exactly the same at Liverpool.
“He’s almost becoming a bit of a cult hero there at Anfield.
“Some of his football has been outstanding.”
