Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has dismissed speculation he could join Manchester City – insisting he has had no contact with former boss Pep Guardiola, per Sky.

Neuer worked with the City manager for three years during his stint at Bayern, which ended last summer, and had a good relationship with the Spaniard.

The Germany international is generally regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the game, and with current City number one Claudio Bravo struggling for form, a reunion between Neuer and Guardiola has been touted.

But the player himself says he will not be moving to the Premier League any time soon.

“There was no contact and, as you know, I’m happy and satisfied here – and my contract I’ve just extended actually,” he said before Bayern’s Champions League clash with Arsenal.
“It honours me that there’s speculation and talk about it.

“Pep still has my phone number – but he hasn’t called me, so everything is alright.”

Guardiola has come under fire for the goalkeeping situation at City having let fan-favourite Joe Hart depart for Torino on loan in the summer.
