Bundesliga star angry over reports of Premier League interest
Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu has denied making clear his desire to join Premier League leaders Chelsea in the summer, per the Daily Express.
The Turkey international is currently serving a four-month FIFA ban for a breach of contract earlier in his career, meaning he will miss the rest of the Bundesliga campaign.
This week, interview quotes attributed to Calhanoglu suggested the 22-year-old would be moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
But he has taken to Twitter in order to deny that he had made any comments about Chelsea or conducted the reported interview.
I said nothing about Chelsea in the press & didn't talk to any Turkish journalist - neither about the court decision nor about my future!— Hakan Çalhano?lu (@hakanc10) 6 February 2017
Chelsea are currently nine points clear of London rivals Tottenham in the league and are closing in on a second title in three years.
