It was another record-breaking night for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola now holds the longest winning streak in the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga.
Thanks to a thumping 4-0 win at Swansea, City set a new record of 15 consecutive wins, smashing Arsenal’s memorable tally of 14 from 2002.
Moreover, Guardiola’s side has hit 52 goals for the campaign, in just 17 matches.
David Silva struck twice either side of half-time, taking him to four goals in three games, and Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero also collaborated in the scoresheet to maintain City’s 11-point lead at the top of the table.
With two home games to come against Tottenham and Bournemouth, it’s likely that City will make it 18 wins from 19 over the Christmas period.
Aside from the 4-0 win and new Premier League record, it was David Silva’s performance that got people talking.
The 31-year-old has been in sensational form for Guardiola’s men this season, with five goals and eight assists in 17 games, and totally warrants the new club contract he recently signed.
But his team-mate Benjamin Mendy, who has been out since September after suffering an ACL injury, posted a hilarious tweet after the Spaniard scored his second of the night.
David should have been bald forever ??? what a player ?— Benjamin Mendy (@benmendy23) December 13, 2017
Silva shaved his head during the in the summer and Mendy poked fun at him while complimenting his recent form.
