Barcelona target insists he'll not move this summer
Barcelona have been dealt a blow by summer transfer target Marco Verratti’s admission he be a Paris Saint-Germain player next season, via Sky.
The Blaugrana are believed to have identified Italy international Verratti as the man to replace Andres Iniesta, with the 32-year-old the subject of interest from China. His contract also runs out next summer.
Between talks of Iscos and Dybalas, I’d rather pay whatever the cost for Verratti. He’s the player that Barça needs above all.— Rafael Hernández (@RafaelH117) March 22, 2017
But Verratti seems to have poured cold water on the possibility of a move to the Camp Nou, at least this year, by outlining his desire to remain in Paris.
“I’m happy in Paris, it’s a great project and I’ll still be there next season,” he said.
Barcelona are enduring a tough season this year, trailing arch-rivals Real Madrid in the LaLiga title race, but they did complete the most remarkable Champions League comeback of all time against PSG, recovering from 4-0 down to win 6-1 on aggregate in the last 16.
