Barcelona star backs new boss to succeed
Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has backed new boss Ernesto Valverde to succeed after replacing Luis Enrique at the Camp Nou, per Sky.
Valverde left Athletic Club at the end of the season and was announced as Enrique’s successor this week. The former coach was announced to be leaving after winning six major trophies in three years.
Iniesta, who’s personal future is unclear with his contract expiring at the end of next season, believes he can achieve a lot of success with the Blaugrana over the coming years.
“I didn’t know about Valverde until it was announced,” Iniesta said. “I’ve talked to him a few times but not much.
“I believe he has a great support team that work hard and hopefully he has a lot of luck so we can achieve things together.
“He’s had good vision at the teams he’s been at thus far and this is another step for him.”
