Barcelona set for astonishing £197m summer transfer: Massive deal could be completed in matter of days
Paris Saint Germain are on the verge of breaking Neymar’s massive buyout clause in hopes of lifting the Champions League trophy this season. The Brazilian International is under contract until 2021 after signing a new five-year deal last October, however, the French club are ready to swoop in and make a move for the superstar.
Marca say PSG are willing to reach both the release clause and pay Neymar £26.6m per year in a five-year contract.
Manchester United were on the forefront for Neymar, as manager José Mourinho desires the prolific striker, but there has been no offer from the club.
Neymar won every major club honour with Barcelona, but will always be in the shadow of Lionel Messi. The 25-year-old is said to be frustrated at Camp Nou and believed he wants to topple the likes of Messi and Ronaldo for the Ballon d’Or.
The Brazilian could link up with international teammates, including Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Lucas Moura, being the key player at PSG.
Paris Saint Germain fell short last season in Ligue 1, losing out to Monaco, after dominating the French League for four straight years. Manager, Unai Emery looks to reclaim the title and in need of a new star since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimović.
With a potential deal in place, PSG would set a new world record with the transfer and be true contenders in Europe. With sources saying a deal is imminent, all eyes remain on the Barca superstar.
