Barcelona and Real Madrid are in hot pursuit of Tottenham starlet Dele Alli according to the Sunday Mirror.
20-year-old Alli has been in superb form in recent weeks and has progressed at an alarming pace since leaving the MK Dons for White Hart Lane 18 months ago.
Alli’s brace ended Chelsea’s long running winning streak earlier this month and this latest performance has seemingly pushed Spanish giants from the Nou Camp and the Bernabeu towards North London.
Tottenham paid MK Dons an initial fee of just £5m for Alli and Mauricio Pochettino will have been hugely impressed with the mature displays the midfielder has put in over the past season and a half.
Alli is now a regular in the England national team set-up and rightly considered one of the most effective young talents in world football.
Last season Alli racked up ten goals and nine assists from 28 Premier League starts and has already reached double figures in terms of goals this term.
Real Madrid are well versed in raiding the North London side having picked up Luka Modric and Gareth Bale in recent seasons and Barcelona’s interest could well lead to a bidding war.
This source states the player’s value in the region of £70m and that seems a fair price given the amount Man United paid to bring in Paul Pogba last summer.
Tottenham are riding high in the Premier League at present and Alli may well be keen to continue his career in England, however if Pochettino’s side fails to keep up the pace and were to finish outside the top four, then a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona becomes all the more tempting.
