Barcelona legend Victor Valdes has deleted all his social media profiles after deciding to retire from football.
The goalkeeper, 35, was a vital part of the Blaugrana’s most successful era between 2005 and 2014, when he left on a free transfer to pursue other challenges.

Unfortunately for Valdes, a serious knee injury at that time meant he couldn’t play for a year. By the time he had joined Manchester United and his former boss in 2015, he had lost his confidence and only played once at Old Trafford.

An unsuccessful loan spell at Belgian side Standard Liege, Valdes spent one full season at Middlesbrough in the Premier League last year but couldn’t stop the Teessiders’ relegation.
