Barcelona confident £60m Plus Double Player Swap Deal Will Seal Premier League Star Signing
Barcelona are readying a strong opening offer for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho as the Nou Camp side steps up efforts to sign the Brazilian international.
Exclusive Paddy Power Offer
Nou Camp boss Luis Enrique has made the former Inter Milan man his number one transfer target and believes he has the pulling power to lure the creative midfielder away from his Anfield employers.
Coutinho was in sparkling form prior to suffering an ankle injury seven weeks ago and is a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s set-up, however the German must be fearful of losing the flair player should a genuine offer be made by the La Liga giants.
Prior to being sidelined the 24-year-old racked up five goals and five assists from just 12 Premier League starts and he had formed a strong portion of a three-man front-line alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Liverpool saw Luis Suarez leave for the Catalan giants and Luis Enrique is confident he can pull off a similar deal and his efforts will be aided by the fact that his closest friend, Neymar, is plying his trade at the Spanish champions.
Barcelona are ready to stump up as much as £60m and are ready to offer players in exchange as part of a deal with the likes of Lucas Digne, Arda Turan and Sergi Roberto being among those who could be included in an overall offer.
Liverpool are the closest Premier League title challengers to all conquering Chelsea but should Klopp’s side fall away then Barcelona’s chances of tempting Coutinho will increase.
Coutinho was signed by the Merseyside outfit back in January 2013 and has gone on to make 159 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals in the process.
