Barcelona agree deal to sign £50m wide-man as Lionel Messi orders Nou Camp side to sell flop summer addition
Barcelona are already setting plans for a busy summer in motion despite not yet having a permanent manager for next season following Luis Enrique’s decision to step down at the end of the current campaign.

Enrique is leaving after three seasons in charge at the Camp Nou, having won five major trophies in that time. It is unclear where Barcelona will go in search of his replacement, with Sevilla’s Jorge Sampaoli, Everton’s Ronald Koeman and Athletic Bilbao’s Ernesto Valverde all heavily linked since the announcement was made.

But the wheels are already in motion over one deal, with Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin reportedly telling the club he wants to leave in the summer according to the Metro. The Gunners are facing a summer of uncertainty with Arsene Wenger’s future still up in the air. The Frenchman’s contract is up at the end of the campaign and although he has decided on his future, nothing has been announced. There is a growing feeling among fans that the boss of 21 years should now leave.
Bellerin is a former Barcelona youth product who left the club to move to England. He is also a long-term target, reportedly, and with the club in need of a new right-back this season, the Blaugrana are looking towards North London again.
Meanwhile, the Daily Star says Barcelona are contemplating selling midfielder Andre Gomes on Lionwl Messi’s say-so. Gomes joined in a £60million deal from Valencia after helping his native Portugal win Euto 2016, but has struggled to assert himself at the Camp Nou this season. Messi’s contract has just over a year to run and the Blaugrana are starting to sweat over his future, with no news on a new deal immediately forthcoming.
The Star cites Diario Gol who claim a number of the Barcelona squad are growing increasingly frustrated with Gomes and his style of play because it doesn’t get the best of the team. Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, the three strikers who have scored over 200 goals between them in the last three seasons or so, are supposedly the men behind ousting Gomes.
There would likely be no shortage of suitors for Gomes though, given that Barça reportedly beat off competition from a number of European giants, including Real Madrid, for his signature. Juventus, Manchester United and Chelsea were also said to be keen, but Barcelona would most likely want to recoup the price they paid last summer.
