It was all going so well for Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasing Liverpool, who were annihilating just about anyone in their path, but news of Philippe Coutinho’s injury layoff has dampened hopes on the red half of Merseyside somewhat.
After hobbling off during the Reds’ 2-0 home win against Sunderland, scans revealed that the Brazilian had sustained ankle ligament damage and would be out of action for a period of between 5-6 weeks.
This means Coutinho is likely to miss the busy run of games over the festive period, including key matches against Everton and Manchester City.
Here’s what Twitter had to say about the huge blow for the Anfield outfit.

5-6 weeks isn't as bad as it could've been! Navigate our way through Christmas and he could be the spark we need in January.— Sam McGuire (@SamMcGuire90) November 28, 2016
