Arsene Wenger could be set for a shock return to football with Bayern Munich, according to a Russian journalist.
Wenger has been out of football ever since his emotional Edit from Arsenal after 22 years in the summer, and he has held off on a return until now.
Links with jobs at Paris Saint-Germain, as sporting director, and even Real Madrid as an immediate replacement for the struggling Julen Lopetegui, have not one to fruition, but his next destination may have just been announced.
Krill Dementyev is reporting that Wenger will replace Niko Kovac at Bayern in an impromptu press conference this week. Kovac, who took over in the summer, is not having a great impact at the Allianz Arena.
Говорят, завтра Бавария объявит о назначении Венгера тренером.

As it stands, Bayern, who have won the Bundesliga title every year since 2013, are in sixth place, four points off pacesetters Borussia Dortmund.
Wenger has always maintained he wanted to return to management, and this opportunity may just be the perfect one for all parties.
