Arsene Wenger makes bold Alexis Sanchez claim after transfer fail
Arsene Wenger has claimed Alexis Sanchez is committed to Arsenal, and has no thoughts or lingering issues over his failed move to Manchester City.
While Man City are thought to be furious about the failed deadline day move, Arsenal were unwilling to let Sanchez go, and initially asked for Raheem Sterling as part of the deal, before backing out and deciding to hold Alexis to the last year of his deal.
While the player is known to be upset and angry at the club, reports he would not play for the Gunners again while Arsene Wenger was manager seem far removed from the actual truth.
The Express report Wenger said: “Alexis Sanchez is very focused on the Premier League and the Europa League and he wants to do well. He is still a bit short physically. He will be quickly back to his best.
“The break came at a very bad time for me, we did not perform against Liverpool.
“Confidence is so important in sport and the best way to get it is to perform like we did today.”
