Arsenal will sign world's best youngster, says ex-star
Former Arsenal star Robert Pires believes his former club will win the race for AS Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe this summer, per Sky.
Mbappe, 18, has had an amazing breakthrough campaign in both Ligue 1 and Europe, inspiring Monaco to the top of the league and into the Champions League semi finals.
Unsurprisingly, the biggest clubs around are all being linked with him, but it is reported his club will demand £100million for him.
Despite Arsene Wenger’s record of not spending heavily, he has confirmed their interest in bringing Mbappe to the Emirates Stadium, and Pires thinks he will.
“I do think Arsenal will sign him, he said.
“The problem is how much. Mbappe has the potential to play for Arsenal and Wenger is the right manager to manage him.
“Monaco and Arsenal are very similar in clubs, so it won’t be much of a transition.”
