Arsenal will make a sensational move for Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus if Alexis Sanchez departs the club this season, according to reports today.
With just 18 months to run on his current deal in north London, doubts remain over the Chilean’s long-term future at the Emirates.
Up to now, contract extension talks haven’t yielded the desired outcome for either party, as Sanchez aims to become one of the club’s highest paid players and Arsenal bid to keep their star man without breaking the bank.
With the likes of Juventus and Manchester City thought to be monitoring the situation, Sanchez, who has scored 8 goals so far this season, knows he would have plenty of high-profile suitors should he decide to leave the Gunners.

Well aware that his exit is a distinct possibility, Arsenal are already believed to be drawing up a list of replacements.
The Daily Mirror writes that German international Marco Reus is currently the man favoured by Wenger, with the Frenchman known to be a big admirer of the £30 million-rated wide man.
Recently returned from a six-month long injury layoff, the 27-year-old was the subject of a failed bid from Arsenal over the summer, although that will not perturb Wenger in his quest to lure the ex-Borussia Monchengladbach man to England this time around.
Reus has struck 76 times in 165 times for the Bundesliga giants, and would be seen as something of a coup for the Gunners.
