Arsenal Fans Will Love What Henrikh Mkhitaryan Said About The Club In 2009

Arsenal look set to complete a deal that will see Alexis Sanchez move to Manchester United, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming the other way, and their fans will love what the Armenian once said about the Gunners.

Sanchez, 29, has been likely to leave Arsenal for some time after internally making it clear he would not sign a new contract at the Emirates Stadium. His current deal runs out in the summer.

Though United could get him for free then, they are keen to get him now and are willing to offer Mkhitaryan in a straight swap deal. The midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola has insisted personal terms must be agreed for his client if anything is to happen.

But Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the former Borussia Dortmund man and, judging by these comments from 2009, the feeling is mutual.

“My favourite team is Arsenal,” he said.

“I like their attacking play and fast style. Moreover, Arsène Wenger puts faith in young players while demanding results at the same time. I like that and want to play there one day.”

It appears this deal could suit everybody.
