Arsenal fans have taken to social media on Thursday, in the aftermath of the breaking news that Jamie Vardy has agreed a four-year contract extension at champions Leicester.

The England striker looked to be London bound last month, after the Gunners activated a release clause in his contract believed to be in the region of £20million.

But despite activating the clause in his contract, the 29-year-old had set off to Euro 2016 without making a final decision on his future, leaving both Claudio Ranieri, and Arsene Wenger sweating on the outcome of his decision.

The latest announcement coming out of the King Power now suggests that any potential move is dead, and last season’s FWA Player of the Year will now focus on Leicester’s Champions League campaign, and the defence of their Premier League title, after he returns from England duty in France.

Whilst we are not sure as of yet for the exact reasoning behind Jamie Vardy’s decision, the news will certainly leave Leicester fans delighted, whilst Arsenal supporters will now be interested to see who their next transfer target will be.

It is well known that a forward is Arsenal’s main transfer priority this summer, and the thought of the Gunners going into the next Premier League campaign with Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott as their only forward options is enough to give supporters nightmares.
