Arsenal & Chelsea set sights on £20m exit bound Barcelona starPublished July 20, 2016
29-year-old Turkish international Arda Turan may have only moved to the Nou Camp last summer but speculation is rife that the Barcelona man may be set for a summer exit.
The cultured attacker made his Barca debut in January, his introduction being delayed due to the Catalan club’s transfer ban, and struggled to secure a foothold in Luis Enrique’s first team set-up.
Turan made just nine La Liga starts last term, scoring twice and providing three assists, but most tellingly the former Atletico Madrid man didn’t make a single Champions League start and now talkSPORT report that the £20m rated player is the subject of growing interest from Premier League sides Chelsea and Arsenal.
Of the two clubs it is perhaps the Blues who are in more need of a player of Turan’s type given that Arsenal have a host of creative midfield talents and Arsene Wenger would be better served looking to sign a prolific forward as well as a fresh central defensive signing.
Antonio Conte has already begun to address weaknesses in the squad he has inherited, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi, and the Italian may see Arda Turan as a solid performer who could provide the ammunition for his front-men.
