How Arsenal can secure ground-breaking £118m summer signing: This transfer could end decade of failure
Arsenal have been linked this summer with a move for rising star Kylian Mbappe.
The Gunners need to take a new direction after missing out on winning the Premier League for over a decade, and must look to the future through the French star.
Some key players may need to leave the London club, as others may already be on the edge as Arsene Wenger looks to enhance his roster.
Arsenal are looking to land rising star Mbappe, as the club believes he could have a bright future at the Emirates. The 18-year-old has been one of the biggest targets during the summer transfer window, with several European giants looking to sign the French playmaker.
The Monaco striker was superb last season, helping his club win Ligue 1 and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. His blistering performances during the 2016-17 campaign caught the attention of Arsene Wenger. Mbappe scored 26 goals last season and could play a major role in Arsenal’s future, as the Gunners boss hopes to develop the winger.

Mbappe was recently sent home from a Monaco training session after an altercation with a teammate, according to reports in France. As the young playmaker has his sights on an even bigger club, a move to the Premier League could provide a great opportunity to enhance his career.
Monaco’s heavy price tag will make it difficult for the Gunners to sign without selling a big-name player at the club. Wenger may need to cash-in on Alexis Sanchez, who could bring in around £70m as Premier League rivals Manchester City are looking to sign the Chilean striker. Sanchez has only one year remaining on his contract, and could leave for free next summer if Arsenal fail to secure a new deal.
The Gunners boss may also sell several ‘underperforming stars’ such as Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, and Aaron Ramsey. Wenger already sent Carl Jenkinson on loan to Birmingham, as others may be on the verge of leaving.
