Arsenal could be set to break the mould and make a big splash in January, with reports emerging that they are close to tying up a deal to bring Steven N’Zonzi back to the Premier League.
During spells with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, Frenchman N’Zonzi was seen only as a tall, gangly holding midfielder. His talent was clear and he was often linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, but nothing ever materialised.
It wasn’t until a move to Sevilla, where he has been since 2014, that N’Zonzi began to get the recognition he deserves. He is now viewed as a cultured and energetic all round central midfield player worthy of a big club.

But having fallen out with his current club, his future appears elsewhere. The Mirror are reporting he is finally set to join the Gunners for around £35million, just shy of his current release clause.

The article goes on to claim the club have reopened contract negotiations with Mesut Ozil in a last-ditch attempt to keep him ahead of his current deal expiring next summer.
