Ander Herrera "Mortified" By Manchester Derby Spitting Allegations
Ander Herrera has insisted images of him spitting on the Manchester City badge beside the tunnel after helping Manchester United to a shock win on Saturday was purely accidental.
The Red Devils stopped City lifting the Premier League title by coming back from 2-0 down at half time. Paul Pogba’s brace and another from Chris Smalling secured the points after Vincent Kompany Ilkay Gündogan struck for the hosts.
After all the celebrations at full time, fans spotted Herrera spitting on the giant City badge that sits on the ground next to the tunnel. Much to the United supporters’ delight, they believed it to be deliberate, but the Spaniard has moved to deny those rumours through a spokesman.

“Ander has seen the footage of the incident and is mortified at any suggestion that his actions were deliberate.
“It was entirely accidental and there was no intent whatsoever.”
It remains to be seen what will happen next but the FA could review the footage and take action against Herrera.
