Alexis Sanchez issues warning to Arsenal over contract talksPublished December 17, 2016
Alexis Sanchez is currently one of the best players in the Premier League, so it makes sense Arsenal would be desperate to keep him.
The Gunners are, but seem unwilling to cough up the money Alexis currently wants (and we’ve heard that before when it comes to Arsene Wenger) and despite saying he wants to stay at the club, Alexis has issued a warning to the Gunners.
The player himself has made it clear when speaking to Sky Sports that unless the club ‘show confidence in him’, he will be forced to go elsewhere. Now as we all know, ‘confidence’ basically translates to putting their money where their mouth is.
Arsenal would be mad to let Alexis go – where else are they going to get a player of that calibre from?
In addition to Alexis, the club are also fighting to keep hold of Mesut Ozil, with rumours that the duo are even using their agents to keep each other in the loop in terms of their new deal.
Alexis has claimed that the new deal ‘doesn’t depend on me’, but at 27-years-old, it’s clear this would be the last big contract he would get in terms of top flight European football – and while a move to China or the MLS may eventually transpire, Alexis clearly has greater ambitions than money at the minute.
Leading Arsenal to their first Premier League title in over a decade would certainly cement his place as a club legend – and a Premier League superstar to boot, and he’s told Arsenal exactly how they can keep him around to try and do that.
