Alex Ferguson gives the green light for United to sign young starlet
Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly approved a move for Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney, after becoming impressed when watching the young full back in recent months.
Jose Mourinho also earmarked him as a potential buy, and after getting approval and reassurance from Fergie, is ready to instruct his board to see if a move is possible.
Arsenal are also thought to be keen on the 19-year-old, with Kieran Gibbs on his way out of the club this summer, and thus a place in the squad now opening up.
Of course, the future of Luke Shaw has been much debated, with Jose Mourinho calling the player out in the media on more than one occasion, and it puts serious doubt over his long term future if the club are considering other full back targets.
Mourinho is hard to please – but will forgive players, and is loyal to those who do impress him, so there is a potential light at the end of the tunnel for Shaw, especially if he can keep up the same kind of improvements we’ve seen in recent weeks.
