If you bet on Cheltenham you will know that this is the highlight of the week, and for many the highlight of the season.
The Cheltenham Gold Cup is a special race and take a special horse to win it. The test of 3m2f is not for the faint hearted, winners are strong stayers and ultra-tough.
The Irish have taken home four out of the last five trophies and will have a strong hand again. The English won’t give up without a fight though, and have many contenders themselves.
This is the best race of the week, and an ideal race to be placing any Cheltenham free bets you have.
The highlight of the entire week and we think we are going to witness something special on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival.
Al Boum Photo won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2019 and 2020, and we are backing him to win a third in 2021 for the Willie Mullins yard.
He came back at Tramore, like he has done in the past, and blew away the cobwebs with a straight forward victory.
Everything for this horse is about Gold Cup day, and you wouldn’t want anyone else above Mullins looking after your horse and getting him there.
There are many lively outsiders, but nothing you would call a serious threat that has shown anywhere near the form Al Boum Photo has.
Al Boum Photo heads the Gold Cup market as he has done since winning the race in 2020 and after victory at Tramore, followed by nothing else coming out of the pack, he is now the 5/2 favourite for this race generally.
Champ elevated his status in the betting after a positive return over two miles, he is now the second favourite at 5/1.
A Plus Tard has stamina questions, but is a player if he stays the trip, he can be backed at 6/1.
Then we have the lively outsiders, who have something to prove, but on their day can get involved. They include Santini, Minella Indo, Kemboy, Frodon and Native River, all around the 12/1 or 14/1 mark at the moment.
