It’s the semi-finals of the US Open with both the women’s and men’s side of the draw seeming as though they are wide open.
Daniil Medvedev and Naomi Osaka are narrow favourites to lift the title but they have to get through to the final first – here is our 26/1 acca tip with Bet365 for the semi-finals round:
|When||August 31–September 13|
|Where||Flushing Meadows, New York City|
|Best Bet||26/1 acca with Bet365|
|Live Streaming||In the UK, the US Open is on Amazon Prime.|
Medvedev might be the tournament favourite but he is available at a juicy price for his semi-final against Thiem – and we are more than happy to side with the Russian for this game.
Although Thiem won the first two meetings between the pair, Medvedev won easily when they met on an outdoor hard court at the ATP Masters 1000 Canada in 2019.
Zverev is favourite here but we will take on Carreno-Busta instead at a very good price of 11/5, with the Spaniard, who came through a five-setter with Denis Shapovalov in the last round, having much more experience.
While Carreno-Busta may be tired from that match he should have energy in his legs after a fourth-round meeting with Novak Djokovic was cut short due to his disqualification.
Brady has been brilliant in the tournament so far, blasting her way through the draw with ease, but this is uncharted territory for the American and Osaka is her biggest test to date.
Former US Open champion Osaka should be too good for Brady but we will take the match to go to a deciding set.
The second semi-final is something of a throwback with two of the WTA tour’s mothers facing off, with Williams still hunting down her 24th major singles title – we are backing her here.
Williams started badly against Tsvetana Pirinkova but she dug deep to come through and she has a fantastic 18-4 head-to-head record against Azarenka, against whom she last lost in 2013.
