Copper Knight has an excellent record at York, and has already ran two very good races at this course in May. He’s a little higher in the handicap now, but given his form, the fact he will like the ground and his runs here, Copper Knight is too big to ignore.
At a huge each way price, don’t be surprised to see him get in the frame and be involved at the finish here.
The Great Voltigeur looks to be a real puzzle, with a question mark over pretty much every runner in the line up. However, Third Realm is a horse that could prove to be better than what we have seen so far.
He did well to win two races early in the season, before a 5th in the Derby and a 3rd at Goodwood. It is certainly possible he didn’t handle Epsom, and was hampered towards the end of the race at Goodwood, so he could be a little better than what we have seen from him so far.
With that in mind, he is the most interesting of the runners in this race.
The feature race looks to be a cracker, even if we have a couple of key players not here, and it is certainly one to be excited about.
Mishriff and Love are the main two contenders on ratings, and faced each other last time out. Mishriff came out on top that day by just over a length, and it is hard to see that form being turned around.
Not only did both get a fair run, but this has been the plan for Mishriff since that day, whereas Love comes here as a late replacement, and may not quite be 100% fully fit and ready to go.
Of the rest, Alcohol Free can get involved if she stays, though there are big question marks over that.
This looks a great race, and one where we fancy Mishriff to pass the post first.
