West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City Betting PredictionPublished October 27, 2016
It’s always darkest before the dawn. That’s what Pep Guardiola will be singing to himself after going six games without a win for the first time in his career. The Manchester City boss seemed to find the English game so easy. Ten wins right off the bat. Now this mad slump. The latest match in the winless streak was a 1-0 defeat to rivals Manchester United in the League Cup.
There are plenty of easier places to go to end such a streak than the Hawthorns. City have a good record against the Baggies in recent seasons but Tony Pulis might raise his game for Saturday. After all, there’s nothing more he loves than a bit of schadenfreude. Plus, how brilliant would it be to see the anti-Guardiola pull something off against the man himself?
The answer is super brilliant unless you’re a City fan. The thing is that City haven’t necessarily been playing badly. Their results have been skewed by silly individual errors. These individual errors are occurring because of the play-it-out-from-the-back philosophy that the former Barcelona manager imposes on his teams. He’s said it already, he’ll stick rather than twist.
West Brom are likely to have James McClean back after he received a nasty cut in his leg. City will be hoping to have Kevin De Bruyne fit and ready to play.
West Brom predicted XI: Foster, Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Nyom, Yacob, Phillips, Fletcher, Chadli, McClean, Rondon
Man City predicted XI: Bravo, Stones, Kompany, Kolarov, Sane, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Sterling, De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero
