Premier League betting: Norwich City to fight for every point against Manchester UnitedPublished May 4, 2016
Norwich City are fighting to maintain their newly reacquired Premier League status as they fight against Newcastle and Sunderland for the one conceivably remaining place in next year’s competition. Norwich are second to last, one point behind Sunderland and a further point behind Newcastle, who are currently holding the coveted 17th position, though they have played one game more.
The Canaries’ recent game at the Emirates last week where they lost to the misfiring Gunners 1-0 was one they could have won if it were not for Petr Cech’s acrobatics, which will give them some confidence against United.
The Red Devils also didn’t get the result they wanted in the last game when they drew 1-1 with newly-crowned Premier League Champions Leicester City at Old Trafford. Although Leicester needed to win the game, United were by far the more dominating team and could have won the game.
However, Manchester United on their travels tend to be a different proposition this term and do not have a convincing record away from Old Trafford, only winning two league games away from home since November, although both of those wins was against top tier opponents in the shape of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Louis van Gaal has set his sights on winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League, so they will have to win this one to stand a chance, although their two rivals for the premier competition, Manchester City and Arsenal, are playing each other at the weekend.
For Alex Neil it is a simply about survival. However, Norwich’s final two games are against teams in the middle of the table, Everton and Watford, who have nothing to play for, so a point from this game may be seen as an achievement.
