Newcastle United vs Tottenham betting: Will Magpies disappointment help Spurs to win?Published May 15, 2016
The Magpies fans who can act like a twelfth man, but if they express their disappointment against the club management during the game, Spurs could take advantage.
This match could have shaped up to be one of the few matches between two teams still pushing to achieve something on the final day of the season. However, after Sunderland beat Everton 3-0, the Magpies are now officially relegated.
Spurs on the other hand still need at least a point to achieve second place in the league and remain above their North London rivals Arsenal for the first time in over 20 years. Their rivals Arsenal are playing the woeful rock bottom of the league Aston Villa, and unless the Gunners win by 13 goals a point should be enough at St. James’ Park.
Tottenham haven’t won in their last three league games, which had seen their late title challenge falter and ultimately die at Stamford Bridge when they lost a two goal lead to draw 2-2 and hand Leicester the Premier League championship.
Last week, an even worse performance and result saw them surrender a one goal lead and lose 1-2 to Southampton at home, with some suggesting their great form which saw them fly up the table cost them as they began to tire.
Spurs have scored the most and conceded the least, but they also have the unenviable record of letting the most leads into losses.
Newcastle have ended their five year run in the Premier League and many Geordie fans will be venting their anger at owner Mike Ashley. The question mark will be whether the fans will get behind their team one last time before they drop down a division or will look to protest and get on the team’s’ back.
This could enable a clearly tired Spurs to take advantage and take the points.
