NFL Betting Preview | Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers are among our best NFL bets for Week 2Published September 15, 2016
The opening weekend of the NFL season brought plenty of entertainment and drama. Six games featured 50 points or more, while a further six matches finished with no more than 2 points between the teams.
This weekend, Sky Sports bring more live encounters to our screens. Here we take a brief look at what to expect and some recommended NFL bets…
New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills (Friday 1:25am)
The Jets travel to Buffalo with the defence a major issue having conceded just shy of 400 yards combined in their 1pt loss to the Bengals. The Bills also lost to the Ravens in their opener, although after conceding an early touchdown the Bills rallied in defence, but failed to find any potency in the offence.
The Jets edge the NFL betting in a tight market, but in a battle of poor defences and poor offences, the very least to expect is a low scoring game.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers (Sunday 5:30pm)
This match-up could boil down to a battle of the wide receivers with the Bengals, A.J. Green and Steelers, Antonio Brown in great opening day form.
A.J. Green will be important to a Bengals side whose running game was somewhat underwhelming against the Jets, while the Steelers had the luxury of both pass and rush in their dominant win over the Redskins.
Steelers Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger is likely to be the difference between the two sides, with three touchdowns to his name already!
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings (Monday 1:30am)
The Packers will be hoping for an easier match after struggling to a 4pt victory over the Jaguars in Week 1, which saw Aaron Rodgers shut down as the game progressed.
The Vikings beat the Titans on the opening day, but were rather thankful to the defence for the result, with interceptions and sacks, turning the game for them.
I cannot see the Vikings being so fortunate again, against a decent Packers side.
