Football Betting Preview: England v MaltaPublished October 6, 2016
Could the football Gods be any kinder to Gareth Southgate? The England job has fallen into his lap and he’s been given a few games to show his worth. First up: Malta. No offence to the minnows, but, well, I just called them minnows, y’know. They were thumped 5-1 by Scotland in their last fixture, y’know. That’s all I’m saying. Well, I’ll say a bit more.
You know the suss. Wayne Rooney is still the England captain and as terrible as his form is, not even he could muck up a guaranteed win. Yes, it’s likely that he will start. Marcus Rashford is back in the squad and is bound to make an appearance of some sort. We’re sure he’s pumped for his World Cup Qualifier, eh, debut. He almost always scores on a first appearance.
This would be a goalscorer bet, folks, but the odds are too low. Back Super Marcus to put one past Malta. Back Wazza to do the same. And Alli. And Vardy. And so on.
