Man Utd v Anderlecht Betting Prediction | back a Home Win at 15/8 with Bet365Published April 19, 2017
Manchester United have found life tough on the road in the Europa League this season, but it has been different story at Old Trafford. Comfortable victories at home to Fenerbahce and Feyenoord in the group stage will give them confidence against Anderlecht.
The Belgians have long been impressive in Europe and held United to a 1-1 draw last week. A late Leander Dendoncker strike cancelled out an earlier goal by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, giving them a real foothold in the tie. But Jose Mourinho’s men will be happy with the away goal and the advantage it brings with it.

Anderlecht were excellent in midfield particularly, thanks in no small part to the influence of both Dendoncker and Youri Tielemans. The latter is a teenager and among the most exciting prospects in Europe right now, a player United among many others will be keen to keep an eye on in the coming years. His technique and ability to find space caused real problems in the first leg, and Mourinho will be keen to nullify him in Manchester.
Their opposite numbers that night were Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick. The idea behind that pairing was Pogba would link the two areas of midfield and Carrick would control the tempo, but Anderlecht wrestled that away from him because of their superior energy. Ander Herrera was on the bench that night and his inclusion could give the home side more of a foothold.
Slowly but surely, United are taking shape under Jose Mourinho. In attack they have enough experience and youth blended together to win this competition and it is more or less down to attitude over tactics as to whether they go all the way or not. Zlatan Ibrahimovic sat out the win over Chelsea on Sunday, and he should be fresh to lead United to another comprehensive victory over a very decent side.
