Manchester United have made a ‘very important offer’ for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to the player’s agent, per Sky.

Morata, 24, is said to be looking to leave Real just a year after rejoining the club from Juventus, because of a lack of regular first team football.

United are just one of a number of clubs reportedly interested in the player, who they had reportedly already bid for. But news of a £52million offer last week was seems a little premature.

Jose Mourinho gave Morata his debut in his first spell in Madrid, and he looks set to chase a reunion following the latest comments from the player’s representative, Juanma Lopez

“It’s a club with a lot charm, a very interesting option,” Lopez said of United.

“I can say that there’s a very important offer and the decision now rests with Real.”

“I cannot tell (if an agreement is close), we’ll see.”

The Red Devils are interested in signing a striker this summer after releasing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and cooling their interest in Antoine Griezmann.
